Job Purpose & Summary
The Officer Branch Operations is tasked with the role of ensuring smooth and effective provision of customer services in the branch level by running daily cash and non-cash transaction operations. The chosen applicant will be expected to operate in complete compliance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as outlined in the Branch Operations Manual and he will be expected to apply internal controls and policies to all the risks that are involved in the operational nature of the branch business.
This role operates under the supervision of the Branch Operations Manager (BOM), Branch Manager (BM), and Manager Sub-branches. The position also demands a strong knowledge of Branch Operations as well as AML/CFT (Anti-Money Laundering / Combating the Financing of Terrorism) Regulations, aligned with the Risk-Based Approach of the Bank. The officer will be a key point of contact for branch customers and will play an important role in ensuring customer satisfaction, retention, and fair treatment at all times.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Branch Operations & Transactions
- Ensure that all stated activities of Branch Operations are carried out efficiently, including counter services such as cash receipts and payments, sanctions screening, ATM management and timely replenishment, account opening, and cheque book issuance and delivery.
- Process ATM card issuance requests, CDR applications, accounts maintenance activities, issuance and operations of lockers, and receive and process cheques for Clearing/Collection, Internal/Online Transfers, and RTGS Transactions.
- Provide Customer Statements to Customers and manage the issuance, liquidation, and cancellation of Banker’s Cheques along with other payment instruments including Remittances in Foreign Currencies.
- Perform all branch activities in strict compliance with the prescribed rules and regulations of the Bank to avoid any operational or reputational risk and audit observations.
- Stay updated with SOPs defined in the Branch Operations Manual, current policies and procedures, and complete all required AML/CFT banking trainings on time.
- Accurately identify and verify customer and beneficial owner sanction screening, customer risk profiling, and ensure its periodical reviews and updates are completed as required.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Regularize exceptions highlighted by AOM, ROM, Audit, or Compliance during branch visits and ensure non-repetition of pointed-out irregularities pertaining to assigned tasks.
- Attend to customer queries and requests promptly, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention through proactive customer service techniques while maintaining the Fair Treatment of Customers standard.
- Support the branch sales team in achieving assigned targets for Branch Deposits, mainly Current Account deposits, and assist frontline sales in identifying cross-sell opportunities for all bank-wide products.
Digital Migration & Premises Management
- Capitalize on digital migration opportunities for all over-the-counter transactions and actively convince customers to successfully migrate and adopt bank-wide digital products.
- Ensure floor time on a daily basis and review the maintenance, upkeep, and ambience of respective branch premises and ATM lobbies to ensure a professional environment at all times.
- Ensure prompt resolution of customer complaints within the Turnaround Time (TAT) as specified by the bank’s customer service standards.

- Proficiency in handling basic data entry and system transactions on core banking platforms.
- Knowledge of banking products, mainly Deposits and Consumer Assets, to support cross-selling efforts at branch level.
